How to Use Premium Domains

With a premium subscription, you get access to premium and custom domains — a major upgrade over the public domains available to free users. Let's walk through what this means and how to use them.

What Are Premium Domains?

When you use Temp Mail for free, your temporary address uses one of the public domains. These work fine, but because they're publicly known, some websites detect and block them.

Premium unlocks two additional types of domains:

🔒 Premium domains

These are domains managed by Temp Mail that aren't publicly listed anywhere. Since detection services don't know about them, they're much harder for websites to block. This means your temporary email works in more places.

🌐 Custom domains

These are your own domains that you connect to Temp Mail. Since you own the domain, no blocklist in the world will flag it as temporary. This gives you the most reliable temp mail experience possible.

How to Select a Premium Domain

  1. Go to the main page and click the "change" button below your email address
  2. Click on the domain dropdown — you'll see domains grouped into three sections:
    • Custom — your personal domains (if you've added any)
    • Premium — exclusive domains for premium users
    • Public — available to everyone
  3. Pick any premium or custom domain from the dropdown
  4. Click "Get it!" — your new temporary email is ready to use
Free users will see only public domains in the dropdown. Premium and custom domains available after you subscribe

Why Premium Domains Matter

The biggest practical difference is reliability. Public domains get added to blocklists regularly because anti-spam services know they belong to temp mail providers. This means you might run into situations where a website refuses your temporary address.

With premium and custom domains, that problem goes away:

Setting Up a Custom Domain

If you want to use your own domain with Temp Mail:

  1. Go to Profile → Custom Domains
  2. Add your domain name
  3. Configure the DNS records as instructed (MX records pointing to Temp Mail)
  4. Wait for verification to complete

You can add up to 10 custom domains with a premium subscription.
